THE ISLAND OF KRK

The Island of Krk is one of the 1185 beautiful Croatian islands, located in the centre of the Kvarner bay.

The 45th parallel passes through the island, whilst its longest part is 38 km and its widest 20 km long. Its coast is around 190 km long. The closest mainland is only about a hundred metres away and its neighbouring islands are the islands of Cres, Goli and Rab; a few smaller islands also pertain to it (the largest being Plavnik, which has 17 km of coast, and the smaller Školjić with just 400 m of coast); it has an unusual and varied relief, climbing from the north-western part to the south-eastern part – from picturesque gentle coves and lagoons, along fertile fields and dense forests with sub-mediterranean vegetation, to the parts of bare limestone and real mountain landscape. On the island of Krk there are three streams and two lakes.

THE VILLAGE OF PUNAT

Punat, located on the east coast of the more than 3 km long and 2 km wide Punat valley, is considered one of Krk’s more recent villages. However, this belief is connected to the fact that studies and more detailed reports regarding this area only began around a hundred years ago. The area of Vrbnik almost reached the village of Punat.

However the inhabitants have been settled here continuously since prehistoric times. Traces of settlement date back in prehistory through the Iliric tribes, the Greeks and the Romans. According to legend, during the Roman period a bridge passed through the narrow entrance to the Punat valley heading to the city of Krk. Supposedly, according to a variety of records, inhabitants from the Punat area were more precisely settled by the Krk noblemen, in order to protect the approach to the bridge and to the Punat valley.

There were a few aspects that made my week so great Sailing from Punat like:
– Crew were super friendly all seemed to like each other which you can definitely notice
– Lots of bar specials and good food
– swim stops are so fun, jumping off the boat and exploring the water
– Most importantly, our skipper was INCREDIBLE. Robert was so great to be around. He was there for everyone and made the vibe on the boat so great. Loved it & would recommend.

GREAT NEW LUXURY CATAMARAN

Nice relaxing vacation in Croatian Islands on board of a brand new, 2019 Catamaran. Nice bedrooms with toilet and shower, big, open living area inside and outside.

My favorite areas… in front of the catamaran and on the fly bridge – sunbathing areas.

PARTY WEEK ON A CATAMARAN

A perfect week for a goup of guys. PARTY all day long. And night. Robert, our skipper was amaizing. He is very good in sailing and knows all good restaurants, beaches, islands to go to.

We will be back next year for sure.

SALING VACATION WITH FAMILY

First time on a Bavaria Nautitech Catamaran 46 Fly. We had the boat without a skipper, and I was very impressed about how easy and comfortable is to sail this catamaran.

The weather was great and the wind perfect for exactly what I was looking for: sailing around Krk Island Croatia. Very good boat.
